Need a different .22 semi-auto handgun

I have about 500 rds thru my current make/model and thinking by now there has to be better for similar cost. Paid about $400.00 for it. Any recommendations?

For now I'll refrain from mentioning the make /model and the issues, just looking for opinions at this point.
