'm trying to include as much as possible. I'm pretty much sold on getting the Beretta PX4 Storm, but I'm waffling on which caliber I want. I used to own an HK45, so I'm familiar with .45 ACP handguns, but in the PX4 in .40, you get 14 vs 10. Some reading I've done states there's no real difference in the terminal ballistics of the .45 or .40 in JHP. Plus with the .40, you can get some hot rounds which hit as hard or harder than the .45.
I've read that the .40 is snappier in recoil while the .45 is more of a hefty push. Common sense tells me that the bigger the bullet, the bigger the hole and the less you need to count on the JHP expanding.
I'm also concerned about cost. .45 is as common as dirt almost, but the .40 isn't exactly uncommon since LEOs often use it. What do you guys see in the way of cost difference for a brick of .40 vs .45 at the moment? Anything else you'd like to add to my consideration? (Oh, the PX4 in .40 is about $50 cheaper than the .45)
